Teeth Whitening Options
Defined Tag: Teeth Whitening. More and more people are looking to whiten their smiles to make them feel and look more presentable to those they deal with in business as well as to make an impression in their personal lives. There are several options when making the choice to explore teeth whitening that a person can choose from. They can have the procedure done in their dentist’s office or do it at home themselves. This last option is also broken down into two choices. A person can whiten their teeth with a kit they purchase from their dentist or they can look at the various options available to them in over the counter whitening kits. These will be less expensive but not necessarily give them the look they are hoping for. If you choose the option that allows your dentist to do the whitening treatment you will find it expensive but not disappointing. It will be a one session treatment lasting around three quarters of an hour. The dentist will be able to whiten your teeth between eight and ten shades. You will be shown charts that will indicate, based on the current color of your teeth, what the likely outcome will be. The whitening gel is applied three times and remains on the teeth for fifteen minutes. At the end of this treatment you will have significantly whiter teeth, but a high dentist bill which will not be covered by your health insurance as it is a cosmetic procedure. That means you are having it done for appearance not because the procedure affects your health. This is why many people opt for the at home treatments. They are much less expensive since the professional, your dentist, does not get paid for their time. Still, the dentist can sell you a good kit that you can take home and use yourself. It will have a gel, that is not quite as strong as the dentist will use, and the necessary trays. But this treatment will take closer to four hours. A teeth whitening treatment can also be bought over the counter, but it is done very differently. It takes a week to two weeks to complete the treatment and the whitening will not be as good as it would be if it were done by the dentist. This option is usually chosen by those who want white teeth at a lower price.
